Interactive Learning for Emerging Talent: A Graduate Training Success Story

Confluence Water is a joint venture delivering water infrastructure services across northern Greater Sydney as part of Sydney Water’s North Region.

With a strong focus on innovation and workforce development, the company invests in nurturing early-career talent through its Graduate Program.

As part of this commitment, Confluence Water partnered with MCI Solutions to deliver a customised soft skills training experience designed to support Graduates in their transition to permanent roles within the business.

The challenge

Confluence Water identified a need to provide its Graduate cohort with formal soft skills training.

The goal was to equip these early-career professionals with the interpersonal and professional capabilities required to successfully transition into permanent roles within the organisation.

The solution

To ensure relevance and engagement, the Graduates were actively involved in selecting the training topics. MCI Solutions delivered an on-site, interactive training experience that encouraged participation and practical learning.

Confluence Water shared its initial ideas and requirements, which MCI used to design a tailored program. This collaborative approach allowed the training to cover a broad range of soft skill areas, aligned with both business needs and Graduate interests.

The results

Post-training assessments revealed positive feedback from the Graduates, who reported gaining valuable skills from the session.

Follow-up conversations indicated that several participants had begun applying the training in their day-to-day roles, demonstrating early impact and practical integration of the learning.
