Whether you are a coach, assessor, trainer, instructional designer, training coordinator, recruiter or facilitator, this certificate refines past experience while introducing new techniques in the field of learning and talent development.

The MCI Solutions TAE40110 program gives you the opportunity to gain skills to work effectively with both individuals and groups. This program is designed specifically for designers, trainers and facilitators who want to create specialised, unique learning experiences for their participants, students and learners.  The program provides you with a background to the critical role that vocational training plays in our economy and introduces you to the key principles of the system.  As an assessor, you will learn more about what it takes to develop competence for your learners and validate the entire assessment process.

After completing the TAE40110 with MCI Solution's experienced trainers participants will have the current qualification required to practice as a trainer and assessor throughout the vocational education and training (VET) sector. What’s more, you will give your presentation skills an added edge and ensure that you make strides in your design, training and assessment capabilities.

There are so many exciting pathways once you have the Certificate IV under your belt.  You can continue on to completing your Diploma in Training and Development (TAE501206) as a further step in your career in the learning and development field.

The program is divided into 2 x 4-day blocks of face to face delivery.

February: 6 – 9 February 2017 + 20 – 23 February 2017

In addition to the classroom sessions, our blended delivery format gives you access to our MCI Ecampus. This is where you find electronic copies of your portfolios and where we store the resources for your additional reading and knowledge and skills building.

Competence is based on the portfolio of evidence that you present for assessment.

This evidence includes answers to knowledge questions, assignments, case studies, documents such as session plans and learning and assessment strategies, feedback on presentation and other workplace documents as proof that you have met the required standards.

MCI guides you in the process of collection of this evidence so that your road to competence is smooth and positive. The face to face sessions provide you with time to commence the evidence collection process – and then you have until September 2017 to submit before the expiry date of this qualification.

Once you submit your portfolio, we allow 30 days for assessment. If there are queries, we will direct these to you for further explanations. You are permitted 3 attempts at achieving competence.

This is an intensive certificate program and you can expect approximately 1200 notional hours of study depending on your current level of competence.

What are the pre-entry requirements?

There are no entry requirements for this qualification program. You do need subject matter expertise in your field and also a passion to train others. It is assumed that you are computer literate and have access to a computer to enter the eCampus to complete your evidence for assessment purposes.

Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.     What qualifications are offered online?


    Right now, we only offer the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management as a supported online course. Our other short courses and qualifications all have face to face training elements.

    Where is the face to face training delivered?


    - Face-to-face – clients offices/third party locations that suit the size and needs of the group
    - Face to face – MCI’s incredible facilities in the Sydney CBD, above Wynyard Station.
    - Online – via our engaging eCampus that enables participants to learn in their own time and enter a world of current and business focused content.
    - Combination of the above as required so that our learners experience a blended approach to improve their performance by gaining new skills and knowledge.

    Will people who attend the training receive a formal qualification?


    MCI provides you with the choice of both accredited and non-accredited programs. We help you determine who should be trained and whether a nationally recognised certificate or a non-accredited executive skills would be a suitable choice. We can also measure changes in performance via one of the embedding apps that your participants could have access to post-training. Learning is all about measuring change – simply choose which measurement mechanism is appropriate for your needs.

    What if I want to train a few individuals?


    We provide you with the option of our pubic schedule program in Sydney for certain popular courses. Alternatively, provide some small group coaching for your team so that they receive more individualised attention from our coaches and trainers.     Do you offer government (subsidised) funding under the NSW Smart and Skilled?


    - We offer funding across NSW for full qualifications from Certificate III to Advanced Diploma level qualifications
    - We also offer our corporate clients Skill Sets (up to half the qualification) for dedicated classes on client site across NSW
    - Special Funding is also available for people with a disability; NSW Social Housing residents and people from an ATSI background.
