Our Presentation Skills course will help you create a genuinely engaging presentation and deliver it with confidence, clarity and conviction.
See yourself on the big screen! At the beginning of the course we will film and review your initial presentation, offering plenty of tips and constructive feedback. After 2 days of learning we’ll film and review your final presentation so we can see a before and after comparison. Because this is conducted in a safe learning environment we have found this approach to be one of the most powerful methods for improving presenting skills.

Before the course
Your learning starts now – so complete the following activities and start your journey to becoming a more confident and effective presenter.
Identify a presentation to plan and deliver
During the course, you will be asked to plan a presentation. It is ideal to use a ‘real life’ workplace presentation or you can create a scenario.
Please come with a clear idea of:
Your presentation topic (you do not need to create any powerpoints or materials)
The people you will be presenting it to – your 'audience'

|This video has incredible insights on the role body language plays in building confidence in stressful situations – such as presenting in front of others. Amy’s ideas can help you build confidence and belief in your own presentation abilities – quite inspirational – especially toward the end of the 20 minutes, so make sure you stay till the final story.?|
|Nancy Duarte TEDTalk 2012 "The secret structure of great talks"?||This 20 minute video provides great information about telling stories during presentations. Nancy has a fantastic analogy about the shape of presentations; models to use; and the concept of the audience as heroes – a very interesting approach. ?|
|Steve Jobs iPhone Launch 2007?||Even if you’re not a computer geek this is worth watching for the sheer magic of Steve Jobs engaging his audience with humour, images, and information designed to persuade. This video is about 5 minutes long.?|

- Consider your personal presentation goals and what you want to achieve by attending the course
Your delivery will be recorded on video and played back twice during the course:
- At the course start, when you will be asked to introduce yourself
- At the end of the course, when you have the opportunity to deliver the introduction to your selected presentation.
Video recording and playback gives you the unique opportunity to observe and review your own performance and receive feedback from others in the group in a safe, non-confronting environment. This is valuable learning opportunity – the insights you will get from this activity will be priceless.

Ask others for the names of presenters they particularly enjoyed or were impressed by, and see them in action.
When you see others present, identify what they do well so you can incorporate their techniques into your own style.
Practice and be hungry for feedback
Look for opportunities to present.
Be creative – don't be afraid to incorporate new ideas into your presentations.
Review your performance each time you present for what you did well and what you could do differently.
Ask your manager, colleagues or audience members for feedback on your presentations and any improvements they have noticed.
Find a presentation mentor – choose someone who is an exceptional presenter and organise time to discuss your presentation concerns or ideas with them.
Review websites that have articles and information on presentation skills such as Presentation magazine
