2 weeks after the course

Take time to revisit your action plan, written during the course, and your course workbook.

You might want to review some key concepts from the course, and complete these activities:

  • Meet with your Manager to discuss the results you gained from the Leadership Competency Questionnaires and together create a development plan.
  • Read the document about Managing Yourself and Your Relationship and complete the exercise.

4 weeks after the course

These activities can assist you in enhancing your people management skills:

  • Review your Personal Leadership vision and professional development plan, write at least 2 professional development SMARTIES Goals for the next month.
  • Write at least 3 SMARTIES Goals for your part of the business. Communicate them with your team and collaboratively adjust and enhance where appropriate.
  • Take time out to reflect and gain Emotional Intelligence about your behaviour. Consider these questions and note your responses in a journal:
    • Who have you given feedback to over the last month? How was it received?
    • Who do you need to give feedback to? What do they need to know to enhance their performance?
    • What have been your challenges over the last 4 weeks? How well do you feel you managed the challenges? Is there anything you would do differently if the situation occurred again?
    • What have been your successes over the last 4 weeks? What feedback would you give yourself about your ability to create the success?
